Construction of #2 set of Evaporators 1965-66.
They raised the solids content of black liquor by evaporating off the water. Solids in put 15% - solids output 57%. After the evaporators, the % solids was increased to within the range of 60 to 67% using the flue gas from the recovery boilers to drive off more moisture. At this solids concentration the black liquor was burned as fuel in the Chemical Recovery Boiler.
