View of the bridge crossing just North of the fire station. The building shown was the Community Club, which was a gathering center with gym, pool, bowling, and hosted many a community meeting and gathering for youth and adults. I’m not sure if this was the original use for this building.

This was the YMCA building built with some funds left by WW Brown and money derived through drives by different organizations of the city of Berlin. It was on Berlin’s East Side across the street from the Community Field and next to the Burgess Mill. The Building and the bridge were both built in tyhe year 1913. The YMCA bridge was opposite the beginning of High Street across Main Street in Berlin. In the mid 1930’s the name of this building was changed to the “Community Club” and was a favorite spot for both the youth and adults of Berlin.
