The Community Club and the Community Street Bridge.
In the background is the smokestack for #8 Chemical Recovery Boiler which was built in 1947. #8 was the oldest operating chemical recovery boiler in the country. I was the last boiler operator to run it at the time of it’s decomissioning in 1993. It along with the old #11 (circa 1966) was replaced by the rebuilt #11 Chemical Recovery Unit in 1993.

The old Community Club & bridge. The bridge was on Main St. across the Berlin Bowling Center on the corner of Main and High Sts. The other end of the bridge connected to the street that circled the baseball field off E. Mason St. As a kid I use to use that bridge to go to the Club and to get to the E. Mason St bridges to go downtown just for fun.
