New Digester House built during the 1947 expansion. Through the years, four more digesters were added to the original five. The installation of pneumatic capper valves in the late 70s was the beginning of automating this process. Eventually the manual labor disappeared and the process was controled by skilled operators and computers in a state of the art control room. This digester house ran until the mill closing and achieved a record of 83 cooks in one day.
