This picture must have been taken inside the giant barn erected by the Brown Corporation early in the 1920’s. A very well built building, it still exists and after being renovated in the 1960’s , it has now become a social club, with bar and large room where many Quebec’s artists (singers, bands, stan-up comics, had performed. From 1966 to 1969, during summer, the upper level would become LA CAYUTE, a “boîte à chansons”, a very large room with a stage. It could accommodate more than 400 persons. Great names of the Quebec songwriters and singers (Gilles Vigneault, Jean-Pierre Ferland, Claude Gauthier, Renée Claude, Raymond Lévesque, etc.), as well as amateur singers, gave their recitals in that place.
